We have some wonderful news to share! Our new campaign, Double The Love, has launched today. Donations made to Mary's Meals from 1 November 2021 until 31 January 2022 will be doubled. This is all thanks to a group of generous supporters who have promised to match donations, up to £1.6 million.
Funds raised will allow us to reach hungry children around the world, including those affected by natural disasters, conflict, and the ongoing Covid pandemic.
Sibongile and Sarah live with their mother and siblings in a farming village in Zambia. The girls face many struggles – such as the two-hour walk to school. Sibongile only has black pumps that are too big for her and Sarah wears rubber sandals.
But both make the journey knowing that they can soon fill their stomachs with a nutritious meal which will help them to concentrate on their lessons.
Sibongile says: “I eat my porridge at 11am. If there’s no leftover food from the night before that will be the first time I eat.”
She dreams of being a nurse so she can help people – and look towards a brighter future.
With our low-cost approach, a donation of just £15.90 will feed a child with Mary’s Meals for a whole school year.
