We are delighted to announce that Matt Barlow will be joining as our new Executive Director. Matt will take up the post in November this year, succeeding Daniel Adams who stepped down in June after six years in the role.

Matt comes to Mary’s Meals with significant charity leadership experience, having led Christians Against Poverty for more than 13 years, where he oversaw significant growth and development. Most recently, for the past three years, Matt has been serving as a full-time pastor at The Light Church, Bradford.

Matt says: “I am genuinely excited about coming to work with Mary’s Meals UK and to serve alongside the team in this most amazing mission. The role comes with a big responsibility to not only maintain the commitment to feed the 2.4 million children Mary’s Meals is currently feeding, but to go beyond that. It is going to be a joy and a privilege to be part of impacting and changing millions of lives.”

Mary’s Meals UK Board Chair, Graham Paterson, says: “After an extensive recruitment process, we are absolutely delighted to have appointed Matt to lead Mary’s Meals UK through this next phase of the charity’s development. Matt brings a wealth of valuable experience as well as a tangible enthusiasm and passion for our mission. He will play a key part in leading our new strategic plan to grow our work and reach the next hungry child waiting for Mary’s Meals. We have faith that Matt is the right person to lead us into the future as we strive to make childhood hunger a thing of the past.”

It costs just £19.15 to feed a child for an entire school year!
