The supporter engagement officer plays a key role in the development and implementation of Mary’s Meals UK’s fundraising activities, in order to secure increased support and funding for the organisation’s overseas school feeding programmes.
This role has particular responsibility for prioritising the growth and nurturing of the volunteer network, building relationships with and resourcing our community volunteers within East Midlands and East England.
Principal duties include:
- Working closely with the supporter engagement manager to develop strategy and plans for engaging supporters.
- Taking responsibility for, and leading on, our grassroots work with churches, clubs, schools, universities and volunteer speakers within the designated region.
- Recruiting, training and supporting volunteers to undertake awareness raising and fundraising activity.
- Building our community volunteer movement, to allow for more opportunities for our story to be shared while encouraging growth within the region.
- Acting as a main point of contact for our grassroots fundraisers and community volunteers, building warm relationships and providing advice, help and support.
- Managing the co-ordination of our regional network of volunteer speakers. Duties include recruiting new speakers, conducting training sessions, allocating talk requests, generating new speaking opportunities and providing ongoing support to volunteers.
- Promoting the formation of more local groups which encourage our community volunteers to meet and support one another in their efforts.
- Stewarding, developing and closely managing donor relationships where appropriate.
