Content Officer (Position closed)
Mary’s Meals International is delighted to be recruiting for a talented Content Officer to join our growing communications team. The successful applicant will help ensure that Mary’s Meals can share stories of the highest quality across a range of digital and offline media platforms, helping to grow the global movement.
Working closely with the Senior Content Manager and the wider Communications team, the Content Officer will contribute effectively to the organisation’s overall communications strategy. This is a varied role and will involve the curation of a continuous flow of compelling and engaging content, such as case studies, photography, and videography. The successful candidate will understand what makes a great story and know how to go about gathering all of the essential ingredients. This will be done not only through collaboration with Programme affiliates and partners, but also by planning, organising and undertaking trips to our programme countries as and when required. Well-developed photography and videography skills are key as well as experience of working with people from different countries and cultures.

Other key duties include:
- Assist in the development and implementation of Mary’s Meals’ communications schedule.
- Identify new opportunities and develop ideas and proposals for content and stories across a wide range of communications platforms.
- To develop and foster positive relationships with programmes colleagues and partners around the world, to support their collection of impactful and engaging content.
- To ensure that stakeholders understand the communications strategy of MMI and how their support is essential to its success.
- To provide regular feedback to our global network of partners and colleagues about the content being shared, providing training and guidance where required.
- To brief the Senior Content Manager on content coming in, potential story ideas and make recommendations about use of these as appropriate.
- To plan international content collection trips and travel overseas as required to collect compelling content.
- To be accountable for all content produced because of these visits, completing full de-briefs and evaluations.
- To make recommendations for key media visit opportunities and support the development of story ideas for these visits.
- To work closely with the Content Coordinator to ensure all high-quality content is added and tagged on the Digital Content Library in a timely manner.
Successful candidates will bring advanced multimedia journalism skills and the ability to think creatively and generate new ideas. You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to tailor messages to different audiences. You must be able to demonstrate first class organisation and time management skills and the ability to influence a range of key stakeholders including senior staff and key partners. Experience of coordinating programme visits with international media is desirable.
