Year of Jubilee 2025
His Holiness Pope Francis, has declared that 2025 will be a year of Jubilee, with the theme “Pilgrims of Hope”.
During this Year of Jubilee, we continue our simple mission to provide hope through serving daily meals to hungry children in their place of education.
Mary’s Meals is named after Mary, the mother of Jesus, who brought up her own child in poverty. We consist of, respect, and reach out to people of all faiths and none.
In doing so, we invite everyone to be part of our beautiful work, living out the call of Pope Francis in this Jubilee Year.

Volunteer
Volunteer your time and become a pilgrim of hope in your local community by contacting volunteer@marysmeals.org or calling 0800 698 1212.

Fundraise for Mary’s Meals, perhaps through a pilgrimage, sponsored walk with your church, or by sponsoring a school – contact us for support.
Resources for churches
Parishes will have a central role to play in the Year of Jubilee, especially as places where people will gather to pray. Mary’s Meals was founded on prayer and our Jubilee church leaflet contains the prayer we share daily as a family. Please revisit this page in the coming months to access our Pray in May resources too that you may wish to use during this Jubilee year.
Resources for schools
The Mary’s Meals Jubilee schools resources introduce the work of Mary’s Meals and helps children explore the idea of hope, the theme of this jubilee year. They provide opportunities for young people to become pilgrims of hope, by praying for our work, sharing it with others and raising funds to support the children we feed. The activities included in these resources are designed to be used in Catholic schools but can also be used by other groups such as church youth groups.
Pilgrimages
In the Bull of Indiction for the Jubilee Year, Pope Francis writes:
“Pilgrimage is of course a fundamental element of every Jubilee event. Setting out on a journey is traditionally associated with our human quest for meaning in life. A pilgrimage on foot is a great aid for rediscovering the value of silence, effort and simplicity of life.”
Many of our volunteers and supporters take part in pilgrimage walks for Mary’s Meals, such as the Step-by-Step walks in Northern Ireland.
